THE CAR

 

The team aims to incorporate the following features in the car:

CHASSIS

Frame Material: MILD STEEL

 

POWER TRAIN

Engine: The competition imposes a restriction of 610cc on the displacement of the engine.

Differential: Limited slip differential.

Brake System: Disc brakes on all four wheels, with two independent (H-type) hydraulic circuits and driver adjustable pedals.

 

SUSPENSION

The team has decided upon Double Wishbone Unequal Arm suspension system with pull rods in front and push rods in rear. 

 

STEERING

Ackermann Rack and pinion steering system will be used.

 

PROGRESS

 

CHASSIS

The chassis is ready with all the welding and grinding operations done. It has been made using mild steel pipes.

The chassis design has been formulated in Solidworks and 3DS Max.

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) have been performed on the chassis design using ANSYS.



ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The team has decided finalized the Honda CBR 600cc engine to be used and will soon procure the same. 

 

SUSPENSION

The Suspension simulation has been done and the team is in process of procuring the various suspension parts. The hubs have been purchased.


MISCELLENEOUS

The tyres have arrived and the seat has been made. Also the steering has been procured. The team is currently working on mounting of various parts.
